ORTHOPEDICS & PAIN MANAGEMENT
When treating musculo-skeletal pain disorders, Kamron integrates traditional acupuncture theory with western orthopedics in order to offer the patient a three-dimensional approach towards recovery.
While Traditional Chinese Medicine offers its own unique theories for diagnosing and treating pain, ever-advancing studies in sports bio-mechanics and kinesiology offer a similarly unique and powerful method of understanding physical injuries and pain. We recognize the necessity of combining anatomy, sports medicine therapeutics, and orthopedics. Many of our patients are competitive athletes that want to know why their pain is occurring, how to stop the pain, and how to prevent it. We get our patients involved. We explain to them what’s going on, and we have them actively participating in their journey towards recovery.
Western orthopedics, musculo-skeletal anatomy, and bio-mechanics help us identify the postural imbalances, inappropriate movement patterns, and muscle injury/tension that contributes to your pain. Traditional acupuncture theory explores the possibilities of particularly strong or long-held emotions (psycho-emotional component) manifesting as pain. It also recognizes that our physical aches and pains can be a deeper indication of internal organ disorders, adding a more holistic component to viewing your pain.
On a physical level, we incorporate postural and strengthening exercises to correct muscular/movement imbalances, trigger-point needling to release tight and painful muscles, and gentle Japanese-style needling to bring the body’s awareness and innate healing capacity to the injured area. We complement this physical approach on an internal level by clearing emotional and internal imbalances so as to promote healing, overall health, and sustainable wellness.
