I suffered a severe palsy on the left side of my face due to injury to multiple nerve branches during facial surgery. The injury left me unable to fully close my left eye, to move the left side of my face, and I could not fully smile. The paralysis was extremely disruptive to my life, as I lead an organization and do quite a bit of public speaking. I felt completely unable to express myself, and especially, the enthusiasm and joy so central to my life! Two top surgeons told me that it was unlikely I would fully recover, and that if I did, it could take a year or more. At present, we incorporate brain photobiomodulation therapy (PBM) as part of the treatment process for brain & neurological issues as: concussions, chronic headaches, brain fog, post-stroke aphasia, early-onset Alzheimer’s, dementia, etc.
Photobiomodulation, commonly referred to as light therapy, is a non-invasive treatment that uses near-infrared light to enhance the health of your cells. It helps your cells produce more energy which helps with repair, regeneration, and maintenance.
When used on the brain, PBM works by healing damaged brain cells, rebuilding neural pathways, and optimizing brain performance.
